Wheel Installation

New wheels change how your car looks and how it drives. We check the fitment first, then fit them properly.

What is wheel installation?

A wheel has to fit your vehicle in more ways than diameter. Bolt pattern, centre bore, offset and load rating all have to match, and getting offset wrong can put the tire into the arch or the suspension at full lock.

We check the specification against your exact vehicle before anything is fitted, mount and balance the tires onto the new wheels, and fit them with the correct hardware.

If you are changing wheel diameter, the tire size usually needs to change with it to keep the overall rolling diameter close to standard - otherwise your speedometer reads wrong and the ride quality suffers. We will work that out with you.

What we do

  • Confirm bolt pattern, centre bore, offset and load rating against your vehicle
  • Work out the correct tire size for the new wheel diameter
  • Mount tires onto the new wheels
  • Balance each new wheel and tire assembly
  • Transfer or fit TPMS sensors where the vehicle uses them
  • Fit the wheels with the correct lug hardware
  • Torque to specification and check clearance on full lock

When do you need this service?

  • You are fitting a new set of wheels
  • You are changing wheel diameter or style
  • A wheel has been damaged beyond repair
  • You are fitting a dedicated winter wheel and tire set

How it works

  1. Fitment check Bolt pattern, bore, offset and load rating are verified.
  2. Sizing We work out the right tire size for the new wheel.
  3. Mounting Tires are fitted to the new wheels.
  4. Balancing Each assembly is balanced before it goes on the car.
  5. Sensors TPMS sensors are transferred or fitted where needed.
  6. Fit and check Wheels are torqued to spec and clearance is checked.

Important information

We will not fit wheels that do not suit your vehicle. If the offset or load rating is wrong for the car, we will explain why and what would work instead. Aftermarket wheels sometimes need specific lug nuts - a tapered seat where the vehicle used a ball seat, for example - and using the wrong ones can let a wheel work loose.

Frequently asked questions

Will any wheel fit my car?

No. Bolt pattern, centre bore, offset and load rating all have to suit the vehicle. Bring the details of the wheels you are considering and we will check before you buy.

Do I need different tires for bigger wheels?

Usually yes. Going up in wheel diameter normally means a lower-profile tire to keep the overall rolling diameter close to standard, which keeps your speedometer accurate.

Can you move my TPMS sensors to the new wheels?

In most cases yes, provided the sensors are healthy and the new wheels take them.

How long does it take?

Around 75 minutes for a set of four, including mounting and balancing.
